In partnership with NR Fitness Clubs and through sponsorship from Sport England, we recently started a series of free exercise classes designed to help nurture men’s bodies and minds at a series of their gyms across Norfolk and Waveney.

In the words of Lawrence Cheese, Area Manager at NR Fitness,

“I was delighted when (MensCraft’s) Steve Hunt first approached me to look at setting up a partnership between NR and MensCraft. We were both keen to use our local fitness facilities to impact a group of men looking to improve their mental health through exercise.

With a small amount of funding we are already seeing some of the participants gain confidence in the gym environment and with help from our Personal Trainers we can continue to grow their mental and physical health.

Location has been a big factor with local people being able to travel smaller distances to access the help we have both provided and look forward to seeing the participants continue their health and wellbeing journeys.”

The success of this partnership illustrates the benefits in collaborative ways to engage men and improve their physical and mental health. Men who’ve participated in the classes have cited the welcoming, inclusive environment the NR Fitness Clubs offer, in addition to the expertise and guidance of their trainers as having a transformative effect on their wellbeing.

Classes are running in Lowestoft, Watton and Wymondham until early June and will be starting in Dereham in the next few weeks. Contact Steve Hunt for further details and how to take part.
