My name is Nick Buck. I just wanted to make my first entry on our blog, introduce myself and give a little update for the East of the county.
I joined MensCraft in January, having previously worked for Adult Learning and before that I managed the Joy of Food cookery skills programme. As you may gather from that information, cookery is one of my hobbies, as well as my love for all things Norwich City FC related!
I have recently taken over the running of the Pit Stop in Gt Yarmouth and I am really enjoying the experience. I feel that, alongside the current members, we are beginning to create a welcoming atmosphere and support each other going forward. I would love to see more men attend the Pit Stop, help build a good support network and enjoy the activities we are planning. We have some interesting and fun activities planned in addition to our weekly ‘drop in’ and I look forward to some of those – particularly fishing, which I haven’t participated in for many years. We completed a photography walk yesterday and the picture at the beginning of this piece is my best effort from the day (more practice needed!).
We will soon start a new Pit Stop in Lowestoft: more details of that to follow. But in the meantime, please come and see what we have to offer in Gt Yarmouth, every Friday 12-2pm at St Georges Theatre Café in King St. You never know, there might even be something home baked!
Thanks,
Nick.
