We were glad to accept an invitation to join the 8:56 Foundation’s Men’s Time to Fish social at Lynnsport Lakes last weekend. MensCraft’s Nick Buck joined the group of men which was facilitated by the 8:56 Foundation in conjunction with the Lake Keepers and Angling Trust. Being a keen angler, and running MensCraft’s own fishing Pit Stop sessions, Nick was delighted for the opportunity to meet with the Foundation, support their social and lend a hand by the Lakes.

The 8:56 Foundation are a fantastic charity, whose purpose to raise awareness and highlight sources of support around mental health – especially by using sport as a means to encourage men to talk, share and come together. In this way, there’s considerable overlap with our work and ambitions at MensCraft and we’re fully behind the great work the 8:56 Foundation is doing, their programmes of events and ways of engaging men with their services.

Nick said, ‘I really enjoyed meeting the guys from the 8:56 Foundation. It was good to see another organisation working for the benefit of Male Wellbeing; they are doing a great job and I look forward to working with them in the future.’

Plans are underway for another mutual fishing venture in the near future.
