Men's Sheds
Men’s Sheds are community spaces for men aged 18 and over to connect, share skills and get involved in practical activities together.
Everyone needs somewhere they can belong, feel useful and enjoy spending time with others.
Sheds are about making and doing – woodworking, fixing things, learning new skills – with conversation happening naturally along the way. Men come for many reasons, but what keeps them coming back is the sense of purpose, friendship and enjoyment.
- want something practical and social to be part of
- enjoy making, fixing or learning new skills
- value company without pressure
- want to contribute to their local community
- are looking for a relaxed, welcoming place to spend time
Whether you’re retired, working, new to an area or just curious, you’re welcome.
MensCraft and Men’s Sheds
MensCraft has been part of the Men’s Sheds movement from the beginning. The Norwich Men’s Shed — one of the first in the UK — was established by some of MensCraft’s founders and first staff.
We now work in partnership with the UK Men’s Sheds Association (UKMSA) to support the development of Men’s Sheds across Norfolk. While each Shed is independent and self-governing, the county’s Men’s Shed Network Facilitator, Jonny Wood, is employed by MensCraft as part of our wider commitment to creating opportunities for activity, meaning and connection for men.
Through this partnership, we also contribute to wider conversations about men’s health and wellbeing, ensuring that the strengths, skills and voices of men involved in Sheds are recognised locally and nationally.
