Profile

I help enable men to ‘do the work’ of personal transformation through deep dives in well-held brave spaces. This sums up the heart of what MensCraft does, which comes to life through the groups, courses, workshops, and therapy we provide. Men can be hesitant about doing this inner work until they take the first step and see for themselves just how valuable it is. I have seen first-hand, through my own lived experience, the value of overcoming adversity through ‘doing the work’, so I feel strongly about enabling others to do this too.

We’re all work in progress; none of us is the finished article. Genuine therapeutic work is not about a separation between ‘sorted’ people and those ‘struggling’; we’re all in it together. What connects us is the commitment to ‘do the work’ and help each other to grow and develop as individuals.

I have been involved in men’s groups, teams, communities and retreats since 2000, and deeply value supportive and inspiring male spaces. Before joining MensCraft, I spent sixteen years living and working at Padmaloka, a Buddhist retreat centre for men on the edge of the Norfolk Broads. I became interested in Buddhism in 1998 and was ordained into the Triratna Buddhist Order in 2011 during a four-month retreat for men.

I’ve completed a training in trauma-informed somatic counselling, and I offer my own one-to-one therapeutic work.

I live with my partner, her two teenage children, and various pets in South Norfolk. Outside of work, I enjoy exercise, meditation, reading, dance, and music.
