I graduated from Birmingham University, then learnt to fly. I’ve remained in business aviation for over 30 years, across a variety of management, operational, sales and consultancy roles. I also have post-graduate management and accountancy qualifications. I took the role of CEO at Saxon Air in 2013, moving myself and my family from Oxfordshire to Norfolk and have never looked back. 

I’ve also worked in not-for-profit organisations where my experience can add some value. These include non-executive director roles for community interest companies, as well as working on the boards of Norfolk Chamber of Commerce and the UK air industry’s trade body, the British Business & General Aviation Association. I’ve also completed a tenure as Aviation Ambassador for the UK Department for Transport’s Generation Aviation Programme. 

I’m aware of how much mental health challenges are affecting personal and work lives and have seen the effect of this directly and indirectly. While we look to challenge the lack of diversity in the aviation industry, I’ve also seen how men’s mental health brings its own challenges, and the culture that is reluctant to face this. 

Becoming Chair of Trustees at MensCraft means I can hopefully add value with the experience I have, but also learn from the leadership and expertise that already exists in this pioneering organisation.
