Growing up in a world of misinformation, influence and AI
Young people have never had greater access to information, ideas and communities.
But working out what – and who – to trust has never been more complicated.
Social media, influencers, algorithms and AI are changing how young people learn, form relationships, understand the world and develop their sense of identity. Alongside extraordinary opportunities, there are new pressures: misinformation, manipulation, harmful content and increasingly polarised online spaces.
Who Do We Trust? is a major public conversation at Norwich Cathedral exploring how young people are navigating this changing landscape – and what we can do to help them do it with confidence.
Panel:
- Chris Morris – Chief Executive, Full Fact; former BBC foreign correspondent and founder of BBC Reality Check.
- Nicky Fairweather – Principal Deputy Head & Designated Safeguarding Lead, Norwich School
- Cody Sollows – Youth Programme Manager, MensCraft
Bringing together journalism and fact-checking, education and safeguarding, youth work and young people’s own experience, the event will explore what works: how we strengthen critical thinking, build resilience, create safer online experiences and help young people make informed choices.
