Profile

I’m passionate about telling MensCraft’s stories and looking for new ways to grow our reach and income. I especially love hearing first-hand from the men we support about the positive changes they’ve been able make in their lives. My role connects me with everyone in the organisation as well as trustees, partners and supporters.

Before I became an employee, I was a MensCraft trustee. I was new to Norwich and going through a challenging period in my life. Being a trustee gave me purpose and connected me with likeminded people in a city where I had few friends. I feel privileged to work for an organisation which truly lives its values.

I’ve been helping organisations to connect with their audiences for more than 20 years. I cut my teeth at the WEA, the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of adult education, before holding senior marketing and communications positions at Scientia (now Technology One), a leading provider of timetabling software for universities, and Lucy Cavendish College, University of Cambridge. I was self-employed for five years and still take on small projects as Jolly Good Content.

I’m a dad, husband, son, cyclist, socialist, bookworm, cat-lover, serial volunteer, recent teetotaller, reformed social media addict and retired raver – though I still occasionally dust off my dancing shoes. Like everyone else, I’m still working things out.

West Norfolk spotlight: reaching men where they are

What we hear time and again is that connection matters. Men tell us that simply being around others, sharing experiences and realising they’re not the only one facing challenges can make a huge difference. In communities where isolation can so easily take hold, creating opportunities for connection is not a luxury – it’s a necessity.
